Policy Evaluation

 

After studying health care policies I have come to a conclusion that it is one of the most difficult policies to create.  There is so much that goes into it such as economic effects and if the people will actually benefit from the policy.  The policy that I have the most opinion on because it is current is the Affordable Care Act.  Health care majorly needed reform before this act but there seems to be problems with this particular bill.  I think the idea of the Affordable Care Act is not bad considering it promises affordable health coverage but there are negative things in it too.  One being that businesses have to provide health care for their employers which could hurt small businesses and in turn hurt the economy.  For a lot of people, the main reason they do not like the Affordable Care Act is because of the tax you have to pay if you do not get covered.  They feel like this is taking away freedom.  All in all, I think this particular act is one where you have to wait and see the result years later to judge the entire thing.
